BlogFragmentsA life of flow

A life of flow is cultivated.

Sometime in 2025, A colleague and I were talking about books we’ve read, and he asked me what I took away from Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.

I found myself returning to the idea that flow exists between anxiety and boredom. That it arises in moments of challenge met with skill. And that it’s not something that simply happens, but something we create, repeatedly, through the actions and choices we make.

It reminded me of something else I liked: the idea that in an unpredictable world, our consistent effort can still lead to meaningful change, even if we can’t always see how right away.

That’s stayed with me.

What ideas have been occupying your mind lately?
